Our Story

I wanted food I could trust

So I quit my job and built it myself.

I spent years as a software engineer — good money, long hours, and a diet that was basically whatever I could grab between meetings. Meal deals at lunch, a takeaway most nights. Everyone around me ate the same way, and I told myself it was fine because I was busy. It wasn't fine.

When I finally decided to fix it, I didn't want a crash diet or a 12-week plan. I just wanted to eat properly. But the "healthy" ready meals I found all had the same problem: ingredient lists longer than the recipe, names I didn't recognise, and preservatives in things that were meant to be fresh — even the brands selling themselves as clean. I couldn't actually trust any of it.

So I started cooking my own. High-protein, fresh, nothing out of a packet. I'd prep a few days at a time, eat well through the week, and still have a pizza or a burger at the weekend without thinking twice. It worked — more energy, better training, none of the afternoon slump. Not from starving myself or following some extreme plan, but from eating food that was actually doing its job Monday to Friday.

The meals I made during the week were the real difference. Not the weekends. Not the gym. The food.

Those weekday meals were the whole thing. And nobody was selling anything close to them — properly fresh, no preservatives, with macros that matched the label instead of rounding in their own favour.

The reason became obvious once I looked at how everyone else operated. Most meal prep companies deliver once a week, so the food has to survive seven days in your fridge — which means preservatives, freezing, or both. By day five it's the sad box at the back that nobody wants. So I flipped it: deliver more often, keep nothing longer than three days, and let it go off after that. If it spoils, good. That's how you know it was real food to begin with.

In 2026 I left engineering and went all in on Tasty & Lean. Not off the back of a business plan — I didn't have one. I had meals that worked, a delivery idea nobody else was doing, and a stubborn belief that people deserve better than what's on the shelf.

Everything we send is the same food I eat myself — prepped fresh, delivered twice a week, eaten within three days. No preservatives, no fillers, no shortcuts.

I'm not here to sell you a diet. I'm here to feed you properly, so the rest of your life gets easier.
